MOBEL continues to develop the electric tractor

The universal wheeled tractor BELARUS 920 (4×4) powered by a 81 h.p. engine falls into drawbar category 1,4 and is intended for wide range of agricultural works from tilling to harvesting and transport operations; it can be used in forestry, for communal services, in building and industry.

The tractor is equipped with a traction electric motor which runs from the power of lithium-ion battery in capacity of 53 kWh. Operating time of the tractor without additional charge – 4 hours.

MOBEL presents the first Russian electric tractor

In the beginning of July MOBEL has begun the assemblage of the first Russian modern electric tractor. The most popular tractor model Belarus 920 has been chosen  for this purpose.

Tractor Belarus 920

Italian electric motor with a power of 60 kW, 250 Nm, 2200 rpm, voltage 300 V will be installed in the tractor.  The motor runs on the power supply from lithium-ion batteries made by Thunder Sky Batteries 56 kWh capacity. Production of such batteries is planned to be launched in Russia in autumn 2011. The process will be located on the world’s largest enterprise in this sphere LIOTEH, Novosibirsk (RUSNANO and Thunder Sky joint venture). This block of lithium-ion batteries will provide the work of the first tractor for 3-4 hours.

After the electric tractor will have been tested and certified, MOBEL plans to organize tractor assembly in Perm on the basis of the production unit of JSC Elektrotehnicheskaya Kompaniya

Implementation of the electric tractor in agriculture will bring immense ecological, updating, innovative, economic and social benefits due to the lots ov advantages as the absolute absence of hazardous emissions in the fields and growing crops, lack of noise and pollution of the soil during long term operation of equipment, eliminating the need for content storage of petroleum products and the introduction of modern low maintenance technology in the village.
